Chelmsford 2022
Chelmsford 2022, is a short series of photographs and experimental image making based around the town of Chelmsford, Essex. Using a vintage 1914 Brownie point and click 120mm film camera I wanted to capture contemporary Chelmsford through a classic lens (literally), the images themselves look as though they were taken some years ago and have deteriorated over time.
These images became damaged, wether in the camera itself, removing the film or in development, instead of disposing of them as failures I decided to experiment with the images and see what I could create from them. I find these images and their experiments show an abstraction of Chelmsford that displaces the location and creates an almost foggy eyed, dreamlike state of viewing.
